Late Night Art Session

April 11, 2012

I didn’t know what to expect at the first Late Night Art Session at Paddy’s Coffee House Hosted by &THEM Collective, but I was excited!

&THEM made print outs of my turtles and JToddO’s artwork for people to color and draw on.

There was a DJ filling the air with hip hop music as everyone drew, drank, and talked.

I got to draw on one of the counter displays with a window marker!

My bunny and her good friend worked on their crafting stuff.

I brought my button machine, and helped people make some custom pins!

I made these T-Rex buttons.

Some people that got a hold of the turtle print outs and art supplies crack me up.

I got to see some of my favorite artists in the Bay Area too…like Basic Lee, Nick Trujillo, JP Neang, and Laura Ho!

It was a fun night of meeting new artists and people, and seeing old ones too. It’ll probably happen again, and maybe when it does you can come join us!

House Blend

August 23, 2011

House Blend Art Show presented by &THEM at Paddy’s Coffee House was a java of a good time. There are some photos of all the fun on Union City Patch.

It was an entire day of chatting with people, drawing, and passing out turtle pins for me. I got to see printouts of my turtle cup colored by little kids and big kids and big big kids. Jtoddo also had printouts of his art colored by whoever wanted to, and man I must say it’s a strange feeling to see something you drew…posted all over the walls…colored by strangers. Was great to collaborate and hang out with &THEM crew as always and also with the other artists too…JP NeangLaura Ho…and Bryant Sina.

Big turtle thanks to &THEM and Paddy’s for throwing the event and art show! And big turtle thanks to all the people that came out and made me feel like a turtle star!

Upcoming Art Show!

Freestyled Gingerbread House

December 20, 2010

My latest masterpiece…was a collaboration with two strangers…in a gingerbread house building contest…at a holiday party this past weekend.

I poured in as much creativity and spontaneity within the time limitations…and maybe that’s why we lost. Our house was too avante-garde…way ahead of its time. The judge didn’t know what to make of our broccoli bushes…our anatomically correct gingerbread people…our use of KFC hot wings…and Rudolphio…the blue nosed dolphin…stranded on our gingerbread pathway.

It would of been nice to have taken the podium to explain the symbolism behind the starfish below our wreath…but sometimes that’s just how the gingerbread house crumbles.
