Making Turtles

March 30, 2011

Hi. I’ve been making turtles.

Wrecked Review did a review with a first person account of the show and videos! Check it out at Wrecked Reviews.

I created my latest art masterpiece in front of a live audience of 2-7 people. I even had some of the audience join me in coloring. Most of the technical aspects of the piece…like all the words…were created by the executive producer, Danny.

Sometimes the only thing between you and your artwork is…your brother.

I drew this section first then…

took this photo…to show what my drawing was of.

My colorists loved the piece so much they had to take a photo with it…in their pajamas.

I feel very lucky that a few photographers were present at the closing reception last week. Click the photo to see more photos that Francis, Remy, and Jocelyn took of the event.

Met Paciano in the hallway near his photos he shot. The project shows girls in the different room at Hotel Des Arts…I love it man…Project: Valentines. The photos were printed by Walls360, and I wanted to draw on one. So Paciano pointed one out…we put 5 minutes on the clock…and did a collaboration right then and there.

This is what passes as a film crew nowadays…cool.

&THEM is in the building..and on the building.

Had to include this photo that my friend Merv sent me of his puppy with the Turtle Wayne pen I gave him at the closing reception.

Happy Saint Turtle Day!

March 17, 2011

I remember getting pinched by beautiful girls in class because I didn’t have any green on.

I’ll be at the Stories x The Step – Closing Reception this Saint Patrick’s evening and participating in the “Live Sketch” thing the &THEM crew wanted to do.

The only “Live Sketch” I seen before was at Comic Con in San Diego a decade ago. I don’t know who would want me to do a sketch for them tonight but I’m ready. I been practicing my turtles and look forward to seeing what people would request me to sketch. I even got my own Turtle Wayne sharpies yo. If you want a Turtle Wayne pen this is all you got to do: 1. Find me tonight at Hotel Des Arts. 2. Ask me to sketch something. 3. Say the secret phrase in the photo below. 4. Get FREE sketch and FREE Turtle Wayne pen.
